Summer Camp in Frankfurt - location - german Courses - Learn German - Study Abroad

Our Teenagers Abroad Summer Camp in Frankfurt's German language school is located in Sachsenhausen, which is locally known as one of the most beautiful areas in Frankfurt. The Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt is located on the south bank of the Main River, directly across from the 'Old Town' area. This delightful district offers a large selection of charming cafes, elegant shops & boutiques and a pleasant atmosphere that can’t be found elsewhere in the city of Frankfurt.

Schweizer Straße is the main boulevard running through Sachsenhausen with many bars and two of the most traditional apple wine houses in Frankfurt, ‘Zum gemalten Haus’ and ‘Wagner’. An evergreen wreath hangs over most apple wine house doors. So if you’re looking for a homemade glass of ‘Apfelwein’, you can easily find one by knowing their signpost!

For the most well-known apple wine houses in Frankfurt, go to Textorstraße or the ‘Altstradt’ (Old Town). If you don’t make it to one, no worries as such apple wine  houses can be found all across southern Hessen. Sperling apple orchards can be seen across the Hessen countryside. Apfelwein is so commonly produced in this area that local law requires it to be the cheapest alcoholic beverage on the menu at any public establishment serving drinks.

Just a 5 minute walk from our language school in Frankfurt, is the Main River embankment of Sachsenhausen, which is the host to Frankfurt’s largest flea markets and some of the most well-known museums in Germany. The area is also referred to as the ‘Museumsufer’ (Museum Embankment).

This river bank of museums is the host to many festivals, such as the Museumsuferfest and the Nacht der Museen. During the latter, museums are open all night long with reduced entrance fees, as well as many free open-air events in the streets.

From our language school in Frankfurt, the city center is just 10 minutes away using the underground. Students can also walk to downtown Frankfurt in just 20 minutes or taxis will take students downtown Frankfurt from our language school in less than 5 minutes, costing them just 5-7 Euros.
