Host Family in London - Accommodation - Teenagers Abroad Summer Camp - English Courses - Learn English

When participating in a Teenagers Abroad summer camp program in London, it's essential that you feel safe and “at home” at your accommodation. This enhances the learning process because when students feel safe in a comfortable enviroment, they tend to focus better on their English course work.

If you choose the option of the host family accommodation in London, then you will stay in a double or triple room in an authentic British family’s home in the friendly town of Ealing. Full board will be provided to you, which means 3 meals per day, including a daily packed lunch to take to school.

It is important to note that most host families do not live close to the city center; however, downtown London is easily reachable through use of London’s public transportation system. Even though, you won't be living downtown, living with a host family in London is still the most effective way to full immerse into the British culture, traditions, cuisine and the English language.

Facilities while living in a London host family accommodation include:
• 3 Meals (packed lunch) are provided daily
• Double or triple rooms are shared by students
• Host families in London live on average 20 to 40 minutes from the language school
• Students must travel to & from school using public transportation

Important Notes:
Even though students will be living with a host family in London, formal supervision may be limited. Also, students must travel alone to & from school every day by public transit or walking. Generally, on the first day of English courses, a member of the British host family will escort the student to the language school. Once the student has learned their way to & from the language school, they will be expected to travel independently using detailed directions given to him/her by the host family.

Once all English courses and scheduled activities are finished for the day, students must return to their host family accommodation for dinner. Only with prior signed parental consent will students be permitted to leave their accommodations in the evenings and/or on the weekends.

Host families in London have the right to enforce all summer camp program rules and curfews. If students do not abide by the curfew times, they will lose their rights to go out at night altogether.

The host family type of accommodation is generally recommended for young, independent students - usually between 15 & 17 years old. Outside of organized activities and English courses, adult supervision may be very limited. Therefore, students must have a decent level of maturity, confidence and international travel experience before booking this accommodation option.

We also request to be made aware of any special requests (such as specials diets, allergies, etc…) when enrolling in a Teenagers Abroad program.

Living with a host family in London is a fantastic experience for students. Most times the students and their host families become life-long friends!
