When planning activities for our teen students, we attempt to find a healthy balance between sports and cultural outings. Such activities may include: taking a Speed Boat Tour on the St. Lawrence River, going to a Jazz Festival, Pedal Boating in the river, visiting McCord Museum, playing a variety of Sports at Mount Royal, planning a Picnic, or visiting Olympic Stadium.
Potential other activities may include: a guided tour of Oratoire St. Joseph, Miniature Golfing, Soccer, Ice-skating, visiting the Biodome, an afternoon at the Beach, playing Volleyball at Park Jeanne-Mance, Canoeing at Ile Notre-Dame, guided tour of the Pointe-A-Callière Museum, Centre D'Histoire de Montréal: guided tour and/or Cycling along the Lachine Canal.
All of our planned afternoon activities are supervised by school monitors. Once afternoon activities are finished for the day, students are returned to the school’s main campus by the monitors. Our coordinator will be at the school waiting to greet the students after they return from the afternoon activities.
Students will then be able to use the internet and check their email in the Student Resource Centre. Also, the language school in Montreal offers optional evening and weekend activities, at no extra cost to the teen students who have chosen the host family accommodation option.

Bowling:
A sport almost as ancient as Montreal itself! Students have a friendly competition at a nearby bowling alley.
Cycling along the Lachine Canal:
Along the Lachine Canal, there is a 14-kilometer bicycle and pedestrian pathway, which locals and tourist take full advantage of! There are also several picnic areas and a few open green spaces.
Soccer at Mount Royal Park:
We give our students the chance to compete against each other in a friendly soccer match at the famous Mount Royal Park.
Swimming at Jean-Drapeau Park:
This wonderful park is a ‘hotspot’ for Montrealers, as they come to relax or to enjoy the beaches, trails and amusement park rides!
Art Folie Pottery & Painting:
Students will have the opportunity to show off their creativity at this arts & crafts café. They will be allowed one ceramic piece in which to decorate as they wish.
Miniature Golf:
Golf without the kilometers of walking! Have fun getting your ball past the challenging obstacles!
Nature Walks at Pointe aux Prairies:
Students can enjoy a day of outdoor activities at this wonderful 261 hectares park. The park has a nature center and a marsh interpretation center, as the wooded area is surrounded by marshlands.
End of Session Party/Ice-skating:
To celebrate their time in Montreal and to say goodbye to classmates, we give students a skating party!
Beach:
Students are taken to a man-made beach for the day to enjoy the sand, water and the sun!
Lazer Quest:
An amazing laser tag five-level maze was built specifically for teenagers. Hence, we take our students for a live action laser tag game with full effects, music and fog!
Jet Boating:
Get ready for a wet, wild and wonderful time jet boating on the Lachine Rapids!
Canoeing & Pedal Boating:
The summers can become pretty warm in Montreal. That’s why we take our students on various boating activities.

Students take a general crash course on circus arts and techniques. Included in this program is introductory workshops, special events, specialized courses and live shows.
Major League Baseball (MLB) Game:
Students take part in America’s past time in Canada at a Montreal Expos game at the famous Olympic Stadium!
IMAX Theater:
The IMAX and IMAX 3D technology brings giant images on an eight-story high screen and wearing the specially-designed 3D glasses bring the images right to your nose! To top it all off the intense surround sound literally rattles the room.
Rollerblading at Olympic Stadium:
Roger Tailibert designed the Olympic Stadium as Olympic Park’s centerpiece. The park’s impressive size and shape, with the tallest inclined tower in the world, make the Olympic Stadium the obvious choice for major sporting events, rock concerts and other mass gatherings.
Picnic/Sports:
Teen students can enjoy the day outside, picnicking and playing sports!

Botanical Gardens:
Established in 1931, the Montreal Botanical Garden has become one of the world’s most well-known botanical showcases. There are ten exhibition greenhouses with over thirty gardens. Visit the gardens and enjoy all sorts of colors and fragrances of the world.
Notre-Dame Basilica:
The Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur Chapel, in the Notre-Dame Basilica, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Photos don’t do this building justice, the English gothic revival architecture is something that must be seen with the bare eye!
Biodome:
Be amazed by the four natural ecosystems in this environment museum located in the heart of Montreal! Inside the Biodome, there are rocky landscapes, gushing waterfalls and majestic trees that are home to birds, mammals and flying fish. Under one roof, you can have an adventure going through the tropical forest, Laurentian Forest, polar world and the Saint-Laurent marine environment!
Château Dufresne:
Inspired by the Petit Trainon in Versailles, this lavish hotel offers one of the best examples of Beaux Arts architecture in all of Montreal. The Dufresne brothers, Parisians architects and various exhibitions occupy the inside of the hotel with collections of furniture and decorative pieces.
National Film Board of Canada (NFB):
The National Film Board of Canada was created in 1939 to produce and distribute films and other audiovisual works that reflect Canada to the world. The NFB now plays a crucial role in Canadian and international filmmaking.
City Hall & Place Jacques Cartier:
In 1967, from this famous balcony, French President General de Gaulle announced to the people “Vivre le Québec libre’’, which means “Long Live Free Québec”. Place Jacques-Cartier, in Old Montreal, attracts those who enjoy street entertainment, such as artists, jugglers, mimes, face painters etc…
Redpath Museum:
Students admire the beauty of rocks, crystals and precious stones at this natural history museum. They also get an idea of how ancient cultures once lived, as well as view collections of modern and prehistoric animals.
McCord Museum:
One of North America’s most significant historical institutions is the McCord Museum. It houses the most important First Nations collections in Quebec.
Just for Laughs Museum:
Just as would be expected, the Just for Laughs Museum explains visitors the evolution of local and international humor. Since 1993, visitors have come to this museum to learn more about all forms of comedy.
Stewart Museum:
Montreal’s sole fort makes for a most interesting museum. Rediscover over four centuries of history, starting from the beginnings of the ‘new world’, all the way up to the mid-19th century. In the museum, there are old maps & documents, antique weapons, old scientific instruments and navigation aids.
Sault-au-Récollet Historical Museum:
By going to this historical museum, students have the opportunity to discover Montreal from 1726 until present day. The remains of old mills, houses and buildings in the splendid Île de la Visitation nature park bring the Sault-au-Récollet to life!
Planetarium:
Established in 1966, the Planéterium de Montreal has become a major attraction in the city. Since opening, several million visitors have come the planetarium to learn more about the solar system. Every year, the Star Theatre puts on a show exploring the most exciting discoveries in astronomy.
Fine Arts Museum (Musée des Beaux Arts):
The Musée des Beaux Arts is one of Canada’s oldest art museums. Its grand permanent collection has just about everything from antiquity to present day art works. The Museum of Fine Arts displays one of North America’s most impressive collections!
Sir George-Etienne Museum:
Sir George-Etienne Cartier was one of the Fathers of Confederation in 1867, so it is only fitting that he have a museum built in his honor. This interactive museum uses animation and exhibits to explain Cartier’s life. You’ll absolutely love the cozy Victorian setting of the museum.

Walking Tour/Picnic at Promenade Bellerive:
A walking tour of Montreal includes: Dawson College, the Old Port of Montreal, the Promenade, and lots & lots of cobblestone streets!
Centre Histoire de Montreal – Guided Tour:
The Place d’Youville hosts this museum, which gives the history of Montreal from 1535 until present day. Anything you want to know about Montreal, you can find out at this charming museum. Experience sound environments, visual effects, old images, testimonies, interactive exhibits and interesting artifacts.
Walking Tour of Montreal:
Students stroll along the famous cobblestone streets of the Old Port of Montreal and the Saint Lawrence River.
Jazz Festival:
For two weeks every year, at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, downtown Montreal practically turns into a gigantic dance floor, covered with hundreds of thousands of people moving to the sounds of great jazz, blues, rock n’ roll and international music genres!
‘Just for Laughs’ Festival:
The ‘Just for Laughs’ comedy festival has become a world class phenomenon that we recommend our students not to miss! The festival offers live performances, theater and club shows, open-air venues, television specials, an industry marketplace, and -of course- comedic films. Just for Laughs assembles a wide variety of international comedians, making the atmosphere on the streets purely hysterical!
les fêtes Gourmandes:
Our teenager students can enjoy the afternoon tasting foods from all around the world at Montreal’s annual food festival!

Important Notes:
Due to insurance restrictions, all weekend excursions will be in Canada.
All teen students need to have written permission from their parents or guardians before participating in any weekend excursions in Canada.
For all two-day excursions, there will be an additional $50 daily charge on top of the price of the excursion.
