Monaco: Considered to be ‘the playground of Europe’s elite’, Monaco brings in people from around the world with its wonderful climate, sun, glamorous lifestyle and tax-free income! This great country is just a short train ride from Nice. Some of the most famous attractions include: Monaco-Ville, La Condamine (home to the Monegasque people), Monte-Carlo beach and the world-famous casino.
Cannes: This world renowned Cote d’Azur is a favorite destination for the wealthy and hardcore shoppers. Every year in May, Cannes plays host to the International Film Festival, where many world known celebrities will come to premier their latest works. During the rest of the year, Cannes is known for its posturing boutiques, hotels, restaurants and amazing beaches. Nearby is the Sainte Marguerite, which was the pine covered setting of the classic novel by Alexander Dumas, ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’.
Grasse: Just 17 km north of Cannes are the pre-Alps slopes of Grasse. This is the location that master perfumers (a.k.a. noses) train their proboscis for 7 years, smelling over 6,000 scents. Grasse is densely packed with cottages that have interesting orange colored roofs. The colors don’t end there, as Grasse is also the producer of some of the finest flowers in France, such as jasmine, centifolia rose, lavender, orange blossom, mimosa and narcotic narcissus.
Antibes: This city has the reputation of being the ‘most posh’ of the Riviera resort towns. Common sites to visit are the Musee Grimaldi-Picasso and the Musee Achaeologique bastion St. Andre.
Neighboring Villages: Villefranche sur Mer (5km), Beaulieu (7km), St Jean Cap Ferrat (10km).
