Teens that study abroad in Costa Rica are sure to have an exciting & educational experience that they'll never forget!

San Jose City Tour:
As students visit the main points of interest in Costa Rica’s capital city, they will be actively learning Spanish, as well as learning about San José’s rich history. Historical buildings are visited that were built in Pre-Columbian times. During the tour, students will have the chance to eat at a Costa Rican restaurant that will give them an authentic ‘taste’ of the history and culture of Costa Rica.

Country Club Visit & Meet Local Teenagers:
Students have the opportunity to mingle with fellow students and local Costa Rican teenagers as they visit a country club. There will be swimming pools, basketball courts, and soccer fields available to the students, as well as areas for them to relax for the day.

Family Day w/ Host Family:
Students will have the chance to spend a day as a part of the family. They will go along with their host family for activities that may include, church, grocery shopping, visiting relatives, celebrating birthdays and other special occasions, etc…

Local Dance Courses:
For students to gain a deeper understanding of Latin Culture, they can learn Salsa, Meringue and other traditional dances.

Local Cooking Courses:
In this activity, students learn new cooking and shopping vocabulary by preparing typical Costa Rican dishes.

Dinner & Karaoke Night:
It is well known that ‘Ticos’ are not shy people, even when they maybe should be! For example, at karaoke bars. During this activity, students are encouraged to get up and sing to practice their Spanish language skills even if they don’t have the best singing voice. A good time is always had by all!

Socializing:
Maybe the easiest activities of all, students just hang out, play games, practice their new dance moves and just enjoy their time with one another!

Sports on campus:
One of the favorite activities of our students where they have time to play basketball, soccer, volleyball and other traditional Costa Rican games.

Bowling:
A bus takes the students to San José to enjoy a night out in the city.
