Living with a Host Family in St. Julians is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn English!

Regardless of the study abroad program location, when participating in a Teenagers Abroad Summer Camp Program, feeling safe and “at home” is one of the most important parts of the learning process. If students feel comfortable in their living environment then they can focus their energy and attention on their English course work.

If you choose to stay with a host family in St. Julians, then you will stay in a double or triple bedded room in an authentic Maltese family’s home. Full board will be provided to you, which consists of 3 meals per day including a packed lunch to take to school.

It is important to realize that host families in St. Julians often do not live next to the language school's campus; however, the campus is reachable by walking (15 minutes on average).

Although, you won't be living directly on the language school's campus, living with a host family in St. Julians is surely the most effective way to full immerse into Maltese culture and the English language.

Living with a Host Family in St. Julians offers the following facilities:
• Double or triple rooms are available for students to share
• 3 Meals (packed lunch) are provided daily
• Students travel to & from the language school independently
• Host families in St. Julians live approx. 15 minutes from language school

Host Family Accommodations in St. Julians include such services as:
• Weekly cleaning
• Bed linnens
• Bathroom towels (students should bring beach towels from home)

Important Notes:
Although students will be living with a host family in St. Julians, formal supervision may be limited. Also, students must travel independently to & from the language school every day by walking.

Typically, on the first day of English courses, a member of the host family will escort the student to the language school. Once the student has learned his/her way, they will be expected to travel independently or with fellow classmates using detailed directions given to them by their host family.

Once all English courses and scheduled activities are finished for the day, students must return to their host family's home for dinner. Only with prior signed parental consent are students permitted to leave in the evenings and/or on the weekend.

Host families in St. Julians have the right to enforce all summer camp program rules and curfews. If students do not abide by the curfew times and house rules, they will lose their rights to go out altogether.

This type of accommodation is only recommended for young, independent students - usually between 15 & 17 years old. Outside of organized activities and classes, adult supervision may be limited. Therefore, students must have a decent level of maturity, confidence and international travel experience before booking this accommodation option.

We also request to be made aware of any special requests (such as specials diets, allergies, etc…) when enrolling.
