Spanish Course in Malaga (ages 15-21)

Spend your summer exploring, relaxing, and learning in magnificent Malaga! This vibrant coastal city in Southern Spain is the perfect place to improve your Spanish language skills.

Have the experience of a lifetime in sunny and spirited Malaga! This beautiful coastal region is the perfect summer destination for learning Spanish. This summer, take language learning beyond the classroom as you bask in the beautiful weather and surround yourself with the adventurous Spanish spirit.

Courses for all Spanish language skill levels can be booked for a duration of 1, 2, 3, or more weeks from June 24th through September 2nd.

About Malaga

Malaga is the heart and soul of the spectacular Andalusia region! Malaga is a consistently popular tourist destination thanks to its wonderful weather, fascinating history, and seaside location. Besides being a gorgeous place, Malaga has some of the most delicious and authentic cuisine in all of Spain. You are sure to have plenty of chances to practice your Spanish with local and international people alike as you experience all that Malaga has offer. 

Stroll through Malaga's winding, cobbled streets and lush botanical gardens, visit some of the city's compelling museums, and stop and explore the legendary bullring. There are also many markets where you can sample Spanish specialties and pick up local expressions. On weekends you will go on excursions to some of the other breathtaking cities in the area, like Seville or Granada.

School

The Malagan school is located in a beautiful Andalusian Villa in the Pedregalejo district. The Villa has two magnificent outdoor patios and a roof terrace where Spanish courses are held from time to time.

The language school is just 2 km away from Malaga's city-center and just 100 meters from the beach! Malaga is the perfect location for a summer program because it offers the ideal combination of liveliness and tranquility. The school provides a calm learning environment where you can get the basics. We will then take you out into the city to practice your Spanish while you experience a whole new culture!

Language Course

The Teenagers Abroad Spanish summer/autumn program offers high school students the following options for Spanish Courses in Malaga:

Standard Spanish Courses:

4 group lessons per day (15 hours per week)

Intensive Spanish Courses: 

6 group lessons per day (22.5 hours per week)

The Teenagers Abroad Spanish Camp includes:

Class size: max. 15 students (average 12)
Standard Spanish courses are normally held 9:30-1:00pm, Monday - Friday
Intensive Spanish courses are normally held 8:30-2:00pm, Monday - Friday

Spanish courses are suitable for all language levels
Teachers are qualified professionals & native Spanish speakers
Students will receive a language certificate at the end of the program

International Student Body:

We expect that over 60% of students attending our courses in Malaga will be non-native English speakers from Europe and Asia (80% European countries, 20% other countries). The remaining students are expected to be  native English speakers from North America and/or the UK.

Schedule for a Typical Day:

Breakfast: 8:30 - 9:30am
Spanish Courses: 9:30 - 11:00am
Break: 11:00 - 11:30am
Spanish Courses: 11:30 - 1:00pm
Lunch: 1:00 - 4:00pm
Organized activities: 4:00 - 8:00pm
Dinner: 9:00 - 10:00pm 
Lights out: 11:00pm

Accommodation & Meals

Students can choose to stay with a host family or in our student residence.

Homestay Accommodations Include:

  • Double room
  • 3 meals daily (packed lunch)
  • Host families live within walking distance from the school

Residence Accommodations Include:

  • 2-4 Beds per room
  • 3 meals daily (packed lunch)
  • 20 minutes from the school by public transportation

Activities & Excursions

Teenagers Abroad - Spanish Courses in Malaga - Activities & Excursions - Learn Spanish - Study Abroad

The supervised activity program includes:

  • Afternoon or evening activities every day
  • Weekly half-day excursion
  • Weekly full-day excursion
  • Other activities and excursions available at a small surcharge

 

The summer program in Malaga offers plenty of time after class to learn more about Spain; its culture, traditions, customs and everyday life. Students will enjoy participating in cultural and social activities with their new international classmates. This will provide them with opportunities to practice their new Spanish language skills and make new friends!

Curfew & Supervision

Level of supervision: MODERATE

Curfew is at 11:00 pm every day.

Unless students are participating in a tour or activity organized by the school, students must return to their accommodation no later than the specified curfew time. No exceptions will be made!

Travel & Arrival Information

Arrival airport:

 Malaga Costa del Sol Airport (AGP)
Malaga's airport is located just outside of the city. Students will be picked up from the airport when they arrive and dropped off for their departure flight. We ask that students please arrive on a Sunday and depart on a Saturday - transfers will take place between 9am and 9pm.

Passports / Visas / Length of stay:

Students are responsible for arranging any required visas, passports, and/or permits needed to study abroad. For more information about visas, permits, passports and general country entry requirements, please visit CIBT official website.

Flights:

Students are responsible for arranging their own flights to and from Malaga. Upon arrival at the Malaga airport, students will be met by a staff member who will take them to their accommodation. 

Travel Insurance:

Teenagers Abroad participants have the option to book our Travel Health Insurance.
