Spend your summer in BrightonLearning English with a full schedule of sports, leisure, cultural activities and excursions with other international students of the same age....
Our English school in Brighton is only a few minutes walk to both the beach and the center of town where you will find many shops, cafes and a laid back atmosphere. Brighton is very much regarded as an 'in' place. Whether it be to watch one of the many sporting events held in the city, to eat at one of its many renowned restaurants, to go clubbing in what is one of Europe's liveliest club scenes, or simply to stroll along the pier or promenade, Brighton is as popular as ever.
The Royal Pavilion is a sight well worth seeing. Built specially for the Prince of Wales at the turn of the 18th century with its Moghul style architecture, palm trees and gardens, the Pavillon gives a wonderful impression of tropical India set among some of the finest examples of early 19th century English architecture.
The Palace Pier isn't just for walking along: it has popcorn stands, fish and chips stalls, fortune tellers, bingo halls, amusement arcades, a pub and an excellent night club!
The first day of the program is dedicated to welcome students, to test students' language levels and to make sure everyone is familiar with the school policies, the premises and the area. On the first day of school a placement test is administered to determine the student's level of English. This way, students can start lessons straight away after they have been placed at the appropriate level. If a student is an absolute beginner, they do not have to take a test, and they can start lessons immediately.
Activities could include: Pick up soccer games, night outs in Brighton, parties, theme nights, sports activities and cultural visits to the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Museum, and local theatres and cinemas.
The family provides 3 meals daily, with a packed lunch that is usually eaten with the other students and teachers at the school. The families are normally located around 25 minutes travelling distance (normally by local public transit) from the school and town center.
Curfew: 22:00 if there are no accompanied evening activties with school staff.
Housed in a converted Victorian seafront hotel - there are 39 bedrooms, all with their own private bathroom, television, a telephone for receiving calls and facilities for making tea and coffee in the rooms.
