Learn Italian in an absolutely breathtaking city, Florence has so much to offer the international student looking to learn Italian and learn about the countries culture and history.

The streets of Florence radiate the charm of Italian culture. Few can dismiss the image of Brunelleschi’s cathedral dome bursting through the morning mist – a terracotta balloon hovering above the medieval rooftops. But once the visitor drops down to street level, the profusion of traffic, tourists and touts can remove all sense of tranquillity.

Located 80 Miles inland from Italy's west coast and 145 miles north west of Rome, Florence boasts a proud history, comprised of art and architecture that is surpassed by none other in Europe. UNESCO estimates that 60% of the world’s most important artworks are in Italy, with over half of them located in Florence.

Our school which is one of the most respected in Florence, is ideally situated in a very clean and safe corner of Florence, just 5 minutes walk from the main train station.

From the rooftop patio you can look to the horizon and the hills of Tuscany, and the beautiful Duomo. Housed in a typical style building, the school is located on the 6th and 7th floors and the views of Florence are amazing!

Every classroom has large windows opening on to wide terraces which over look the city. The large terrace on the roof, where classes some times take place in the summer, is a favorite place for students to socialize and hang out during or after classes. The school is very bright and our staff help to make the atmosphere warm and friendly.

A short (10 minute) walk will lead you to the cathedral square and to the heart of the city.

School facilities include:
8 classrooms (most with balconies & large windows)
Rooftop terrace with views over the Dome and city
Internet access & school snack area
Social rooms, patios, TV and video room
Located downtown
Academic credit for your summer study (if required)

At the weekend many students can arrange to take optional excursions to local cities or local places of interest: Pisa (the leaning Tower of Pisa,Torre Pendente, is a famous world landmark), the Tuscan village of Volterra, the lush olive groves and valleys of Fiesole (8 km's from Florence), the medieval city of Siena, the local coast with its beaches and small coastal villages.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

""An extremely educational experience no matter what your age!

The web site was very informative for the program I attended. The pre-departure information was great and the support I received for all my questions was as well. I felt like I was dealing with an extremely well-organized program.

The accommodation was amazing! My host mother was so helpful with everything and was so patient. My roommate was a little young but we became great friends.

The location was spectacular - right near the Ponte Vecchio and other great landmarks but a bit far from the school. The classes were really interesting and definitely focused on conversation, which is excellent. The teachers were all friendly and fun. They offer a lot of cultural activities but not as much as I had hoped for.

You will have fun no matter what but it is significantly more rewarding if you have a good hold of the language."
Eva K. (age 18)

"I had such a fun experience.

Meeting students from all over the world was wonderful, and seeing art first hand was so much fun. I would do it again. The staff was extreamly helpful and knew all the answers to my questions. The couple I stayed with were sweet and had a deep passion for their Italian heritage, I enjoyed their company. The school was organized and had it together. I liked the teachers as well."

Future Advice: To research the country and city ahead of time to get a feel for what goes on there, and to study a bit of the language.
Caitlin S. (age 18)
