Spend your summer in NICE
in Southern France in the Côte d'Azur, enjoy a full schedule of sports, leisure, cultural activities and excursions with other international students....

Sun kissed Nice, with its sparkling seas and Provençal pleasures is more than simply the capital of the Cote D' Azur, it’s the fifth largest city in France and contains a wealth of fine architecture and culture.

Located on the Mediterranean coast, at the western end of the Riviera, Nice lies between the Alps and Italy's Gulf of Genoa. Nice boasts a plethora of ruins, museums, boutiques, and a hearty cafe culture. Cafes occupy weathered 17th and 18th century buildings and outdoor markets crowd the old town's streets and Venetian-style squares.

Visit vibrant Vieux-Nice, the Old Town, where the native Niçois live. It's also home to lively cafés, galleries, and nightclubs. Bring your camera or paint box and capture the colors of the flower market, Marché aux Fleurs. Lunch on a Niçoise-style pizza, or pissaladiére, or perhaps a fresh salade Niçoise.

Stroll the promenade des Anglais, Nice's grand avenue, lined with palm trees, gardens, shops, and hotels, including the grand Hôtel Negresco, which boasts a mammoth Baccarat chandelier. View superb art at The Fine Arts Museum (Musée des Beaux-Arts) and the Masséna Museum (Musée d'Art et d' Histoire Palais Masséna).

Nice is one of the best places to start a Côte d'Azur adventure. It offers the second largest airport in France and it's easy to reach other major Riviera destinations. Best of all, it tends to be a bit more affordable than other coastal resort towns. Begin your exploration of "The Maid of Provence" at one of its palaces, Palais Masséna, from which you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the Bay of Angels.

Our French summer school is located on the first floor of a beautiful building, on a quiet side street in the centre of Nice. The building is of the Belle Epoque style and is just a few minutes walk from the finest street in town.

It is just few minutes walk to the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and only ten minutes walk from the Old Town, Promenade and the beach. Walking distance to both the train and bus stations.

The school neighbourhood offers a quaint atmosphere with boutique shops, cafes and bars, ideal for lunch breaks or hanging out after class.

The school was recently renovated and has seven bright classrooms, modern furniture and a variety of international students from across Europe and North America. Between classes, the students have access to a large social room, which has several vending machines for coffee, cokes, water and other snacks.

School facilities include:
7 bright large classrooms (with AC)
Common Room with TV, DVD, pool table
Small class sizes max 15 students

Lessons are in a max. group of 15 students (average 8), lessons are 45 minutes in length with small breaks between every 2 lessons. If you are attending the intensive program, students will break for lunch before continuing the additional lessons in the afternoon.

The first day of the program is dedicated to welcome students, to test students' language levels and to make sure everyone is familiar with the school policies, the premises and the area.

On the first day of school a placement test is administered to determine each student's level of French language ability. If the student is an absolute beginner, no test is given and their French classes will start right away.

Classes are taught by native French teachers and classes are normally held in the mornings, Monday to Friday.

Number of students attending:
We expect the following students numbers, each week during the following dates:
June 70 -80 / July 180 - 200 / August 160 - 180

After classes are over for the day, our program allows the student plenty of time for sports, cultural and social activities. It also allows the student to make new international friends among their new classmates, experience cultural activities together and practice their new language.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

""Teenagers Abroad was an amazing experience.

I have so many good memories from it. I made tons of friends that i still keep in contact with & I hope to go again next year. I thought it was a very good program that my child enjoyed. The website was very helpful."
Alexis S. (Age 16)

________________________________

"My three weeks in Nice was incredible!

I had chosen this program with the hope that I would be more prepared for the upcoming year of AP French, but I ended up getting so much more. Not only did I learn MORE French than I had anticipated, I was able to apply what I learned in class by interacting with some of the locals (les Nicois!) also.

The classes were challenging, but a lot of fun, and we had plenty of free time in the afternoon to go to the beach, shopping, or sightseeing after classes had ended for the day. Some nights, we had planned events, like a discotheque, but others, we could explore the city with a few friends, or hang out at the residence.

The activities planned for us were great! They are so varied from day to day that there is always something for us to do. My favorite activites were going to the outdoor cinema to watch a movie, going to the discotheques, and going to other nearby cities (Antibes, Cannes).

Be sure to try everything at least once and take advantage of the fact that you are in an unfamiliar environment by stepping a little bit outside of your comfort zone. Be sure to take a lot of pictures too because you'll definitely want to look back and remember everything about your trip!
YOOJIN R. (age: 16)
