Study Aborad - Language Courses - Private Lessons

The Teenagers Abroad Live & Learn Junior Program combines the supervision and safety of a home stay with our language immersion expertise. Just like our Live & Learn program for adults, students, who are between the ages of 12 - 18, will live and study in the home of their own personal language teacher. By doing so, students will be able to learn the targeted language as effectively as possible because they will actually “live the language” while enjoying a fantastic summer language holiday!

This style of language learning is much different than traditional courses. Students will wake up each morning and be instantly consumed with the new language. They will be speaking the language in just about everything they do while living abroad, such as eating breakfast with their host family, watching TV, playing sports, etc…

Students will also have a structured course to follow. It is the combination of the courses, daily conversations and social activities in a foreign language that allows for this method of full language immersion to be effective. By the end of the program, students will have a true insight into the local language and country’s lifestyle.

Course Structure: 
Students can choose between 15, 20 or 25 hours of private lessons per week. Students can then choose how many weeks they wish to participate in our Live & Learn Junior program. Our Clients:
Deciding whether this course is right for you or your child typically depends more on character than age. Participants in this program are generally well-traveled, adventurous, mature children, who have the desire, confidence and ability to travel on their own.

Locations:
Generally, participants are housed in the suburbs or outskirts of the chosen city. Homes are normally in residential neighborhoods and owned/occupied by middle class families. Though homes are outside of the city, public transit is always accessible to the students. This way, students have the possibility to access the city center, railway stations and airports easily whenever necessary.

Supervision:
For around the clock supervision of the child, there will be a “Cocooning” fee, which will be additional to the Live & Learn junior program's tuition. This service is required for those under 18 years old and optional for those older. However, teachers and members of host families are not obliged to spend ‘all’ of their time with the student. The host will spend a considerable amount of time with the child, just as they would if a close friend came to stay in their home.

We guarantee that children and teens will be supervised at all times by either their teacher, host family members or other adult staff members during certain school sponsored activities. The Teenagers Abroad Live & Learn Junior Program is conducted very professionally with strict guidelines and procedures that our staff must follow at all times. We guarantee that students will be matched with the best suiting teacher or family possible, which is based on the personal information, needs and desires of the participant. If, at any time, the student feels uncomfortable or is not getting along with the assigned host family, we can relocate them immediately without any problems. Furthermore, parents can feel rest assured knowing that all of our teachers are qualified and experienced in child supervision and care.

Step 3: Sign the Teen Waiver form (child and guardian)

Step 4: Pay (deposit of full payment) by completing our convenient and secure credit card form

Step 5: Fax all 3 forms to us as soon as possible*
*Please note that a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice is required to enroll in our Live & Learn Junior program.
