The Teenagers Abroad French Live & Learn Junior program in France combines the supervision and safety of staying with a host family with our language immersion expertise.
Just like our Live & Learn programs for adults, junior students (ages 12 - 18) will live and study in their personal French teacher’s home. By doing so, students will learn French as effectively as possible because they will actually “live the language” while they experience a fun and educational French language holiday in France!
This style of learning the French language is much different than traditional French courses. Students will wake up each morning and be instantly consumed with French. They will be speaking French in everything they do while living abroad in France, such as eating breakfast with their host family, watching TV, playing sports, etc…
Students will also have a structured French course to follow. It is the combination of the French courses, daily conversations and social activities in a French that allows for this method of full language immersion to be effective. By the end of the Live & Learn junior program, students will have a true insight into the French language and the lifestyle of the people of France.
French Course Structure:
Students can choose between 15, 20 or 25 hours of French private lessons per week. Students can then choose how many weeks they wish to participate in our Live & Learn Junior program in France. Prices vary depending on duration, weekly lessons in the French courses and desired destination within France. Click here for more information on Live & Learn Junior pricing and fees.

Our Clients:
Deciding whether this French course is the right fit for you or your child typically depends more on character than age. Participants in this program are generally well-traveled, adventurous, mature children, who have the desire, confidence and ability to travel on their own.
Locations:
Generally, participants are housed in the suburbs or outskirts of the chosen city in France. Homes are normally located in residential neighborhoods and owned/occupied by middle class French families. Though homes are situated outside of the city, public transit is always accessible to the students. This way, students have the possibility to easily access the city center, railway stations and airports.
Supervision:
For all day and all night supervision of the child or teen, there will be a “Cocooning” fee, which will be additional to the French Live & Learn Junior program's tuition. This service is required for participants under the age of 18 years old and is recommended but optional for those older. However, teachers and members of host families are not obliged to spend ‘all’ of their time with the student. The host family in France will spend a considerable amount of time with the child, just as they would if a close friend came to stay in their home.

We guarantee that children of our Live & Learn Junior program in France will be supervised at all times by either their French teacher, host family members or other adult staff members during certain activities.
