Our Teenagers Abroad Live & Learn Junior Program in Germany carefully combines the safety and supervision of staying with a host family with our German language immersion expertise. Comparable to the Languages Abroad adult Live & Learn program, teen students (ages 12 - 18) will live and study in the home of their own personal German teacher. By doing so, students can efficiently learn German because they will actually “live the language” while enjoying a German language summer holiday in Germany!
This style of language learning is much different than what is taught in traditional German courses. Students will wake up each morning and be instantly consumed with the German language. They will be speaking German in just about everything they do while studying and living abroad in Germany, such as eating breakfast with their host family, watching TV, playing sports with friends, etc…
Students will also have a structured German course of their choosing to follow. It is the combination of German courses, daily conversations with native German speakers and social activities in German that allows for this method of full language immersion to be so effective. By the end of the Live & Learn Junior Program, students will have a true insight into the German language and into the lifestyle of the German people.
German Course Structure:
Students can choose between 15, 20 or 25 hours of private lessons in German per week. Students can then choose how many weeks they wish to participate in our Live & Learn Junior program in Germany. Prices vary by German course duration, hours of weekly lessons and desired program location within Germany.

Locations in Germany:
Generally, students of the Live & Learn Junior program are housed in the suburbs or outskirts of their chosen German city. Host families normally live in residential neighborhoods and owned/occupied by middle class German families. Though homes are outside of the city, public transportation is always easily accessible to the students. This way, students always have an opportunity to reach the city center, railway stations and airports whenever necessary or desired.

Our Clients:
Deciding whether this type of German course is a good fit for you or your child typically depends more on the student's character than their age. Participants in this program should be well-traveled, adventurous, mature children, who have the confidence, desire and ability to study abroad & travel on their own.
Supervision:
There will be a “Cocooning” fee for 24 hours per day supervision of the child, which will be additional to the Live & Learn junior program tuition. This service is required for all students under the age of 18 years old and optional for those older. However, teachers and members of host families are not obliged to spend every minute of their time with the student. The host will spend a considerable amount of time with the child, just as they would if a close friend came to stay in their home.

We guarantee that children will be supervised at all times by either their teacher, host family member or other adult staff members during certain organized activities. Our Live & Learn Junior program in Germany is extremely professional with strict guidelines and procedures that our staff must follow. We guarantee that students will be matched with the best suiting possible German teacher or family based on the personal information, needs and desires of the participant. If, at any time, the student feels uncomfortable or is not getting along with the assigned German host family, we can relocate them immediately without any problems. Furthermore, parents feel at ease knowing that all of our German teachers are qualified and experienced in child supervision and care.
