Learn Spanish - Study Abroad - Spanish Courses

The Teenagers Abroad Live & Learn Junior Program in Mexico combines the supervision and safety of a home stay with our Spanish language immersion expertise. Similar to our Languages Abroad Live & Learn for adults program, students between the ages of 12 - 18 will live and study in their own personal Spanish teacher’s home. By doing so, students will learn Spanish as efficiently as possible because they actually “live the language” while they enjoy a Spanish language holiday in Mexico!

This style of Spanish learning is much different than traditional Spanish courses. Students will wake up each morning and be instantly consumed with the Spanish language and culture. They will be speaking Spanish in just about everything they do while living abroad in Mexico, such as eating breakfast with their Mexican host family, watching TV, playing sports, etc…

Students will also have a structured Spanish course to follow. It is the combination of the Spanish courses, daily conversations and social activities in a foreign language that allows for this method of full language immersion to be effective. By the end of the program, students will have a true insight into the Spanish language and into the lifestyle of the people of Mexico.

Spanish Course Structure: 
Students can choose between 15, 20 or 25 hours of private lessons per week. Students can then choose how many weeks they wish to participate in our Live & Learn Junior program in Mexico. Our Clients:
Deciding whether this type of Spanish course is right for you or your child typically depends more on character than age. Participants in this program are generally well-traveled, adventurous, mature children, who have the desire, confidence and ability to travel on their own.

Locations:
Generally, participants are housed in the suburbs or outskirts of the chosen city within Mexico. Homes are normally found in residential neighborhoods and owned / occupied by middle class Mexican families. Though homes are outside of the city, public transit is always accessible to the students. This way, students have the possibility to access the city center, railway stations and airports easily whenever necessary.

Supervision:
During the Spanish Live & Learn Junior program in Mexico, there will be an additional fee for the constant child supervision. This service will be referred to as a “Cocooning” fee in your billing and will be added to the basic tuition of the Live & Learn Junior program in Mexico. This cocooning service is required for all participants who are under 18 years old and the service is optional for those older than 18. However, Spanish teachers and members of host families in Mexico are not expected nor obligated to spend ‘all’ of their time with the student. The host family members will spend a considerable amount of time with the child, just as they would if a close friend came to stay in their home.

Arrangements will be based on the personal information, needs and desires of the participant. At any time during the Live & Learn Junior program in Mexico, if the student feels uncomfortable or is not getting along with his/her assigned Spanish host family, we can relocate them immediately without any problems at all.
