Our Teenagers Abroad Live & Learn Junior Program in Spain combines the supervision and safety of living with a host family with our Spanish language immersion expertise. Similar to the Languages Abroad Live & Learn Program for adults, students (ages 12 - 18) will live and study in their own personal Spanish teacher’s home. This allows students to learn Spanish as effectively and efficiently as possible because they will actually “live the language” while they enjoy a relaxing Spanish language holiday in Spain!
This style of Spanish learning is much different than traditional Spanish courses. Every morning, students will wake up and be instantly consumed with the Spanish language. They will be speaking Spanish in just about everything they do while they live & study abroad in Spain, such as eating breakfast with their host family, watching TV, playing sports, etc…
Students will also have a structured Spanish course to accompany their accommodations with a Spanish teacher. It is the combination of the Spanish courses, daily conversations and social activities in a foreign language that allows for this method of full language immersion to be effective. By the end of the program, students will have a true insight into the Spanish language and Spain’s lifestyle.
Spanish Course Structure:
Students can choose between 15, 20 or 25 hours of private lessons per week. Students can then choose how many weeks they wish to participate in our Spanish Live & Learn Junior program in Spain. Prices vary by duration, weekly lessons during the Spanish courses and desired location within Spain. Our Clients:
Deciding whether this Spanish course is right for you or your child typically depends more on character than age. Participants in this program are generally well-traveled, adventurous, mature children, who have the desire, confidence and ability to travel on their own.
Locations:
Generally, participants are housed in the suburbs or outskirts of the chosen city within Spain. Homes are normally situated in residential neighborhoods and owned/occupied by middle class Spanish families. Though homes are located outside of the city, public transportation is always accessible to the students. This way, students have the possibility to quickly access the city center, railway stations and airports whenever necessary.
Supervision:
For 24 hour supervision of the child or teen, there will be a “Cocooning” fee, which will be additional to the Spanish Live & Learn Junior tuition. This service is required for all participants of the Live & Learn Junior program in Spain who are younger than 18 years old and is optional for the older students. However, Spanish teachers and members of host families in Spain are not obliged to spend ‘all’ of their time with the student. Members of the host family in Spain will spend a very reasonable amount of time with the child each day, just as they would if a close friend came to stay in their home.

We assure parents that children are supervised at all times by either their Spanish teacher, Spanish host family member or other adult staff members during certain activities. Our Live & Learn Junior program in Spain is extremely professional and has relatively strict guidelines and procedures that our staff must closely follow. We guarantee that students of the Live & Learn Junior program in Spain will be matched with the most suitable Spanish teacher or host family based on the personal information, needs and wishes of the participant. If the student ever feels uncomfortable or is not getting along with the assigned Spanish host family, we can relocate them immediately without any problems. Furthermore, parents should feel rest assured knowing that all of our Spanish teachers in Spain are qualified and experienced in child supervision and care.
