Teen Program Waiver Form

Please read carefully! Complete and Submit this form to Languages Abroad along with your enrollment form and payment form.
NOTE: A specific camp/school waiver may also need to be submitted by you, following your program confirmation.

General Rules and Guidelines:
1. The student is between 10 and 17 years of age. (8-9 year olds may be accepted, on a case-by-case basis).

2. The student is expected to attend and arrive on time to all classes and planned events, unless there is a valid reason. The on-site staff must be contacted, if the student is unable to participate.

3. For Host Family programs, participants are expected to be home with their host families by the curfew time appointed by the hosts and must abide by other house rules.

4. For Residential programs, curfews are set by the program administrators and MUST be observed.

5. Participants wishing to explore their host city/town without program staff supervision and within individual camp/school restrictions, MUST have confirmed parental consent. NOTE: Not all Teenagers Abroad locations allow for this option, please see your individual program location information for details.

6. Adult friends or relatives may only take the participant out of the program (and accept full supervisory responsibilities for the participant) with detailed written permission from the parent(s). Written permission must be received at the camp at least 3 days in advance. NOTE: This option is not available at the Paris camp location.

7. The program accommodation is for participants only; overnight guests are not permitted to stay with the host family or at the school residence.

8. Participants are not permitted to make long-distance phone calls from their accommodation. Parents may call the participants at the accommodation at set times. It is customary to keep calls as brief as possible.

9. Participants are expected to be courteous and respectful guests and must obey all local laws. Illegal drug use or abusive behavior at any age or alcoholic consumption by minor participants will not be tolerated. Languages Abroad reserves the right to refuse to serve, cancel and/or terminate participation for any person who fails to comply with the policies of the program, or for any other reason deemed necessary at the sole discretion of Languages Abroad or the school/camp. We reserve the right without escort or refund, to send home any participant who violates the rules stated above at the expense of the participant or his/her family.

10. Please confirm program arrival/departure dates on the confirmation letter you receive from our office. Extra accommodation nights before or after the program dates are not generally available. Additional nights must be requested in writing with at least one-month advance notice, for an additional fee.

11. Parents and participants are solely responsible for transportation to and from the designated pick-up site or camp location. Languages Abroad accepts no responsibility for travel delays or missed flight connections. We strongly recommend that you book direct flights to the airport closest to the camp location, where possible.
